Corfu (Kerkyra or Corfu). The island is a beautiful Greek holiday paradise that lies in the north of the Ionian Sea. It is approximately 600 km² in size and is one of the most densely populated areas in Greece.
Corfu is just off the coast of the Greek mainland (8 km) and Albania (2 km), and the distance to Italy is approximately 100 kilometers. When you approach Corfu, by plane or boat, you immediately see that the island is incredibly green, with the many trees reaching as far as the sea.
You see picturesque villages close to the coast, surrounded by green vegetation and forests; the appearance is enchanting.
