Marmaris

Marmaris is a breathtaking coastal destination on the southwest coast of Muğla, where history, nature, and yachting culture come together. Known in ancient times as Physkos, Marmaris dates back to around 3000 BC and was once part of the Carian civilization. Today, it is celebrated for having one of the world’s largest natural harbors, surrounded by pine-covered mountains and crystal-clear waters.

Marmaris’ exceptional natural beauty is a key reason why visitors return year after year. It is also one of Turkey’s most popular departure points for yacht and gulet charters, thanks to its ideal location close to Greece and the many secluded bays that line the coast. These calm, sheltered anchorages make the region perfect for relaxed cruising and swimming in pristine waters.

On your first day, a walk along the scenic coastal promenade towards İçmeler is highly recommended. This approximately 12 km route runs between the sea and fragrant pine forests, offering a peaceful and picturesque introduction to the area.

Before embarking on your private gulet cruise, Marmaris’ modern marinas provide excellent facilities, while the town itself offers lively shopping streets, restaurants, and a vibrant atmosphere. Combined with its rich history and outstanding sailing conditions, Marmaris is an ideal starting point for an unforgettable yachting holiday in Turkey.
