The Cyclades
The Cyclades
The Cyclades are one of the most beautiful islands in the World and lie in the Aegean Sea, southeast of mainland Greece. Here you find breathtaking and unexplored beaches, architecture in white and blue ( we all know the pictures of Santorini and Mykonos).
Although these islands are stunningly beautiful, the Cyclades are so much more. First of all, you should know a little bit about the history of the island. The Cyclades refer to the islands forming a circle around the sacred island of Delos.
According to Greek mythology, Poseidon God of sea was furious at the Cyclades nymphs and turned them into islands.
The area around these islands is dazzling as well as the islands itself. You should absolutely visit them and of course, we all know the famous ones like Santorini, Mykonos, Syros, Sifnos, and Milos, but you should really go the region of the minor Cyclades like Donousa, Irakleia, Koufonisia and the smallest of them all, Schinoussa.
